Hi, I’m Steve! Welcome to my site!

I attended the University of Dayton, where I majored in mechanical engineering. On campus, I wrote for the student newspaper, Flyer News, for four years. I served as the sports editor for two of those years. I covered every sport on campus, and I was credentialed to cover games at the men’s and women’s basketball NCAA Tournaments. Additionally, I was credentialed to covered flyer alumni who played for the Washington Mystics and Washington Nationals.
I’m currently enrolled in a sports journalism master’s program at St. Bonaventure University (keeping it in the Atlantic 10).
Professionally, I’m a multi-engine pilot and frequently fly internationally.
I’ve lived in the Marshall Islands, Virginia, Ohio, Texas, Oklahoma and Delaware. I’m back in the D.C. area as of 2024.
In 2014, my high school friend, Paul Fritschner, and I started “The Top Step,” a baseball blog and podcast. Paul is a broadcaster at Xavier University, and you’ll see we still collaborate occasionally.
